"description": "Description\nAt Axis Electrical, we design and manufacture shackle insulators. These insulators are essential components in electrical distribution systems, providing insulation and mechanical support for conductor attachment points. Typically made from materials like porcelain, glass, or polymer composites, our insulators withstand high mechanical loads and environmental stresses. Their design facilitates secure attachment to crossarms or brackets, ensuring reliable performance and longevity in overhead line installations.\nA shackle insulator serves as a crucial component in low voltage distribution networks. You can position these insulators either horizontally or vertically, depending on your installation needs.\nShackle insulators feature a tapered hole that evenly distributes mechanical load, reducing the risk of fracture under heavy loads. You place the conductor within the groove of the shackle insulator and secure it with a soft binding wire.\nConstruction & Working of Shackle Insulator\nWe design our shackle insulators with a round shape and a central hole for bolting, making installation straightforward.\nFor optimal performance, the weathershed of the insulator is manufactured from either Hydrated Alumina Ethylene Propylene Copolymer (EPM) or Silicone Elastomers. We use an injection molding process to bring the weathershed to its final cure state in one continuous step, preventing any internal undercure or surface overcure. This process ensures a hydrophobic surface that remains effective even after exposure to tropical marine environments, UV rays, and moisture.\nThe core, or rod, of the insulator is made from fiberglass, composed of 70-75% by weight of axially aligned glass fibers bonded with an organic resin. We either cast or pultrude the rod to achieve the necessary strength and durability. The end fittings are compressed onto the fiberglass rod, ensuring they do not move relative to the central rod under applied loads up to twice the rated Routine Test Load or maximum designed cantilever loads. After all external heat processes are complete, the fittings are attached to the rod, guaranteeing a secure bond.\nAdditionally, we provide our insulators with load-limiting bases that deform under longitudinal loading exceeding 100% of the rated design cantilever load, enhancing the safety and reliability of the insulator in demanding conditions.\nChoose Axis Electrical’s shackle insulators for your low voltage distribution needs. We build our products to the highest standards, ensuring you receive reliable performance and longevity in every application.",
